Adirondack Bluegrass League History

On a cold and icy night in 1972, the Adirondack Bluegrass League (or ABL for short) was formed. The purpose was to form a family oriented organization that promoted and preserved bluegrass music in upstate New York.

Our organization has been going strong for over 39 years. Each month from October to April, members get together for a meeting and picking session at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Corinth, NY. Everyone brings a covered dish for a potluck supper. The meetings usually occur on the third Sunday of each month.

Also, each month from October to April (with the exception of December) the ABL promotes bluegrass shows that are held at Molly's Mason Jar, 13 Park Avenue Ext., Hadley, NY 12835. These events usually occur on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Our mission is to promote bluegrass music and local bands and musicians in a family oriented atmosphere within the Albany, Saratoga and north country regions of New York.
